Walking onion, egyptian onion, something like that. I just know these gnarly tips are so unusual, I just had to have these. Like my iris, I bought this plant last year and it really didn't do much. I can't tell whether it was a lack of the right stuff, or whether they were too young to develop.

Looks like I'll be getting some little bulbs this year! These papery husks burst open this week to reveal another stalk and the cluster of baby bulbs. Can't wait to taste the first ones - I have no idea how to tell when they're ripe!
